A museum of a different kind is the Rock Museum Munich, located about 200 meters in the Olympic Tower. And therefore it is the highest rock museum in the world.
The idea of the rock museum goes back to the Munich businessman Herbert Hauke, who founded the museum some years ago, but he could not find the right place for it. Finally he found it in the Olympic Tower at the Munich Olympic Centre.
Today you can admire a original, rare and strange exhibit of all kinds which are connected with rock music. These include, for example, a large selection of antique guitars of rock stars such as Pink Floyd, Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stones, Queen and many more. In addition, several gold records and tickets from famous concerts and much more. Fans can also see many unpublished photos and original letters.
Overall, the museum now has about 3,000 artifacts, each year there are several new ones. There is also a small concert stage for special occasions.
